Kyra Minturn
KyraMinturn Sedgwickwas born on August 19, 1965 is an American actor. She is best known for her leading role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. Following the seventh season Sedgwick received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13th in 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in the show as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other roles in films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992), Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick declares that she is Jewish and says she attends Passover seders.
